I think of the martini as a deadly serious drink that can
take a joke, and the affectations of a serious martini aficionado seem to
beg for parody. T. S. Eliot fans will enjoy the
Wasteland Martini. I personally like the
Sex on the Beach witticism on the perils of serving a dry martini.
