Classic Martini Recipe

Martinis are some of the world's most popular cocktails, and everyone who has ever frequented a bar or club, has had any kind of social life or watches TV, has heard someone mention a Martini at one point or another. Loved and even revered by famous figures and regular folks alike, these particular types of cocktails are definitely here to stay. Of course, you might like to know how to prepare these delicious cocktails in the comfort of your own home, and for that, we are here to help.

The classic Martini has two main ingredients: Gin and Vermouth. Depending on preference, you can play around with the quantities of these two types of liquor, but experts will generally say that the ideal report between the gin and the vermouth is 4 to 1. As such, if you're going to use two ounces of gin, you will want to add half an ounce of Vermouth. Mix the two drinks lightly with some ice, strain it so the leftover ice doesn't stay in your drink, and you have your Martini. A Martini is finished off by adding an olive or, according to preference, a piece of lemon peel, for a different aroma.

Depending on the Vermouth you use, you can have regular Martinis or dry Martinis. In order to obtain a dry Martini, you can opt to replace the regular, red and sweet vermouth with the less sweet, white one. A dry (or drier) Martini can also be obtained by decreasing the amount of Vermouth from the mix, and some even claim that a very dry martini will contain no Vermouth at all, but that claim is somewhat controversial in the world of cocktail experts, considering the fact that they say a cocktail should contain at least two main ingredients in order to deserve its denominative.

That's all there is to it. You are well on your way to making this well-loved drink in the comfort of your home.
