Bloody Mary Martini
The bloody Mary legend has been told throughout the ages. It speaks about a young mother whose baby was stolen from her and now she roams the land in the spirit form looking for revenge. Folklore states that chanting, "Bloody Mary I killed your baby", three times in front of a mirror in a room lit by candlelight will summon her spirit who will then either possess you or kill you. Due to these stories and folklore that have come down from generation together there have been a lot of aspects that have been instituted and the most common is the bloody Mary martini.
There are numerous drinks that are named after this spirit. These drinks are usually red in color so as to stress on the association between the name of the drink and that of the spirit.
The first bloody Mary martini recipe is mentioned below and calls for the following ingredients.- Two parts of Bacardi white rum
- One part of raspberry syrup
The method of preparation goes about in the following way:- First take the rum in a champagne flute glass that which is filled with crushed or shaven ice.
- Now pour in the raspberry syrup until you get a blood red tinge to the drink.
- Garnish with a raspberry and serve.
This is an elegant and eye popping bloody Mary martini recipe and calls for the below mentioned ingredients:- Vodka
- Lemon juice
- Tomato juice
- Celery stick
- Salt black pepper
- Mustard
- Tobacco sauce
- Worcestershire sauce
- Horse radish
Take one ounce of all the ingredients except for the tomato juice which you need 8 parts, black peppers 3 parts, tobacco and Worcestershire sauce of which you require 3 and 2 dashes respectively. Now combine all of these ingredients in a shaker and strain them into a martini glass filled with shaven ice. Add olives or a wedge of lime to garnish and serve.
Though not red in color this bloody Mary martini recipe packs the punch to set your head ringing with chants of, "bloody Mary I killed your baby".
